In a captivating highlight of Nvidia’s keynote at VivaTech 2025, held in Paris, CEO Jensen Huang introduced the audience to an impressive AI-powered robot named Grek. This two-legged droid didn’t just walk onto the stage—it danced, jumped, and even snapped pictures with the audience, perfectly demonstrating the company’s advances in robotics simulation and AI-driven physical interaction.

Grek: The Star of Nvidia’s Robotics Vision

Grek, described by Huang as a “little girl,” was trained entirely within Nvidia’s digital simulation platform, Omniverse. This virtual environment allowed the robot to learn how to navigate complex physical terrains simulated with high precision—from sand and gravel to slippery floors and carpets. The rigorous AI training inside Omniverse gave Grek practical movement skills before it ever trotted onto a physical stage.

“Grek learned how to walk obeying the laws of physics inside Omniverse,” Huang explained. “We created hundreds of thousands of scenarios for it to master balance and mobility. When Grek entered the real world, it was just a straightforward version, and here it is showing off for us now”.

A New Era for AI and Robotics

Jensen Huang’s keynote emphasized that robotics powered by AI is entering an industrial revolution phase. Grek’s demonstration was not just entertainment but a living example of how far the technology has evolved: from virtual training based on cutting-edge AI systems like Newton to real physical autonomy controlled precisely through Nvidia’s GPU acceleration.

“The next wave of AI has started,” Huang said during his speech. “Everything that moves soon will be robotic.” He underscored how Nvidia’s investments in AI architectures, coupled with simulation platforms, are set to transform manufacturing, autonomous vehicles, and everyday automation worldwide.

Beyond Grek: A Broader Robotics Revolution

The robot’s entrance at one of Europe’s largest technology conferences symbolized the intersection of AI, simulation, and hardware innovation. Nvidia’s Omniverse ecosystem enables developers worldwide to build digital twins and train robots in controlled virtual spaces, a game changer for rapid robotics prototyping.

Other humanoid robots, such as the lifelike Ameca developed by Engineered Arts, were showcased at VivaTech alongside Grek, signifying growing interest in robots capable of social interaction and advanced physical tasks. These advancements promise a future where AI-powered robots assist in retail, caregiving, logistics, and more.

Nvidia’s combination of high-performance AI computing, simulation technology, and real-time robotics demonstrations like Grek paint a bold vision of a world where human-robot collaboration is seamless, intelligent, and ubiquitous. VivaTech 2025 attendees left with a clear message: the robotics revolution is no longer distant science fiction. It’s here, on stage, dancing with Grek.
