Instead of repeatedly telling ChatGPT to “make this sound like me,” users can now enable a setting that automatically adapts the AI’s tone, phrasing, and formatting to match their personal style.
The feature is designed for ChatGPT Work, OpenAI’s version of the assistant tailored for professional use. It is currently available on the web for paid plans that include access to ChatGPT Work, and applies to messages generated on both the web and mobile apps once configured.
How Writing Style works
To activate Writing Style, users must connect the tools they use every day. Supported integrations include:
- Gmail – for email correspondence and sign-offs.
- Google Drive (including Google Docs) – for documents and long-form writing.
- Slack – for chat messages and informal workplace communication.
- SharePoint (and in some reports, Notion and Microsoft Teams/Outlook) – for internal documentation and enterprise content.

How to enable Writing Style
Users can set up the feature through ChatGPT’s personalization settings:
- Open ChatGPT on the web (or mobile app) and sign in to a paid plan with ChatGPT Work access.
- Go to Settings → Personalization → Writing style.
- Toggle on “Reference my writing style” or start the setup wizard.
