The Eyeware Beam app can transform your head into a game controller

Using only your iPhone, you can enable head tracking in over 190 games.

Head tracking has been used in gaming for a few years, and while it provides a good intermediate step to VR for people who get motion sickness, it still requires specialised equipment. TrackIR is probably the most well-known solution for those looking for head tracking options, and it might have met its match.

Eyeware Beam is a new head tracking app for the iPhone and iPad that has just entered open beta. This means that anyone with an iOS device can download the app and turn it into a head and eye-tracking camera. It is compatible with over 190 games, including Microsoft Flight Simulator, Destiny 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Star Citizen, and many more, and can be accessed via a single app download.

How does Eyeware Beam function?
“Our platform-independent human perception AI for 3D cameras bypass the need for specialised hardware so that gamers and streamers can get reliable and cost-effective head and eye-tracking technology for gaming and live streams,” says Eyeware co-founder Bastjan Prenaj.

Simply download the app from the Apple App Store to get started. After you’ve installed it, you’ll need to enter your email address so that Eyeware Beam can send you a link to download the companion app for your Personal Computer. After that, simply ensure that your iPhone or iPad is connected to the same wifi network, follow the calibration instructions, and voilà! You have head tracking enabled for your favourite games.

There are some limitations also let see that. You’ll need to have your iPhone or iPad mounted on a sturdy stand around your monitor and their has to be proper or enough lighting where ever you sit to play games. You also can’t be too close or too far away from the camera, else it won’t be able to see your eyes properly and it will not function properly.

We feel since its great app we recommend every gamer to try Eyeware Beam. It is free to download, but just keep in mind that it is still in beta, so there may be a few kinks to iron out.
