Google’s search engine giant hasn’t said anything about the Android 11 yet. But, It seems the Android developer preview is just around the corner. Google accidentally put the Android 11 Developer Preview live on its platform before realizing the error and took it down.
Last year Google pulled the Android 10 developer preview in Mar. The link, which shows earlier that Android’s 11 Developer Preview now links to the developer’s Android 10 website. But of course, before it was taken down, the Internet, particularly the Android Police, had already got a screenshot of the site.
Based on the screenshot, the search engine giant shared some interesting things about the Android 11, which developers could look forward to. The site discusses behavioral changes, known as system changes that could impact the app while running on Google’s new mobile operating system, Android 11. Also mentioned were privacy changes that could introduce new safeguards, support apps, and protect the user’s privacy.
It also talked about new features and APIs for foldables, connectivity, sharing, media, biometrics, NNAPI, and more. Mention of foldables should not come as a surprise as Google is already working to make the new smartphone design an accessible form factor for developers and OEMs. It appears that when it becomes available Android 11 would offer more direct support to foldables.
Nothing is yet official about the Android, so far. Earlier, we saw rumors suggesting that Share to Print will appear on the next Google mobile platform. This functionality will make the printing of photographs and PDFs easier for Android users. Other rumors alleged that Android 11 would feature dark mode scheduling.
Based on the Android 11 Developer Preview immediately removed by Google, it looks like it was accidentally set live. The team may not yet be ready to unveil a new Android mobile operating system. It is worth mentioning that in the middle of Mar last year Google released Android 10 as Android Q Beta. Android fans should expect Google to drop Android 11 R beta around the same time this year.
