WhatsApp to let iPhone users add up to 3 accounts, according to new evidence spotted in the app’s iOS beta. The feature would expand WhatsApp’s existing multi-account support on iPhone from two profiles to three, letting users switch between them inside a single app without logging out.
The change was detected by WABetaInfo in WhatsApp beta for iOS version 26.37.10.15, distributed via Apple’s TestFlight program. However, the feature is still under development and not yet enabled for beta testers, so iPhone users cannot add a third account at this time.
What the feature will do
Once fully implemented, the three-account feature is expected to work similarly to the current two-account system:
Users can add a third phone number directly in WhatsApp’s settings.
Each account will have its own:
- Chat history.
- Notifications.
- Privacy settings.
- Backups and media.
An account switcher will allow quick switching between up to three profiles without logging out.
This means iPhone users with three personal or work numbers could manage all of them in one WhatsApp installation instead of needing a second device, WhatsApp Business, or third-party workarounds.
How it may work in practice
Based on reports and the current two-account flow, adding a third account on iPhone is likely to follow these steps once the feature is live:
- Open WhatsApp on iPhone.
- Go to Settings → tap your profile/account section.
- Tap “Add account” (or a similar option).
- Enter and verify the third phone number via SMS or call.
- Set up profile name, photo, and privacy options for the new account.
- Use the account switcher to move between the three numbers as needed.
WABetaInfo notes that users who already have two accounts may see an “Add account” option specifically for creating a third profile.
Current status and availability
At the moment:
