Instagram launched a new feature as part of its Stories platform, polls, which enables both brands and individual users to add customizable polls to their Stories and gain feedback from their audiences. In this article, you can find out how to create Instagram polls and how to track the results.
The polls functionality is only available in the Instagram Stories, so you’ll need to make a new story post to use this feature.
1.Build a story post
To optimise the impact of the polls, your story post should have a meaning relevant to the subject of the poll.
Take a picture or create a text and background post for your story. Add any filtres, text, emojis, gifs, or doodles to your story.
2. Add a report to your story article
To build a vote, tap the Sticker icon (the square with the face) at the top of the Story screen and select the Poll Sticker option. There will be an option to add your question and a Yes/No poll box. The standard poll format is loaded when picked. Type the question you want to ask in the text area. You may ask any question of your audience, so be imaginative. You’re going to find more ways to do this below.
3. Place the poll
When you’ve finished customizing your poll, press the check mark or the Done button in the top-right corner of the page. The poll sticker will be based on the screen of your story. As with every other sticker, you can drag the poll around the placement screen and pinch it to make the poll sticker bigger or smaller.
4. Share Your Post
Please fill in your story post and add it to your stories like you would do to any other post. Viewers scrolling through your stories would see the post and be able to vote for their preference. The first time they see a poll,
they might also get a pop-up prompt that lets them know what it is.
5. Track the results of your poll
After your poll goes live, make sure you have the push notifications activated and Instagram sends you notifications when someone votes. On the Analytics tab, tap the Post Eye icon to see the information for each person who viewed your post as well as who voted for the poll option.
Know, the results of the polls are only available when the story is live. If the story disappears within 24 hours, the analytics will not appear in your other account review. It’s best to set a reminder to log in and get the results of your poll before the story comes to an end.
Creative Ways to Integrate Polling
Now that everyone can add a poll to their stories, you’ll see a lot of people doing it not necessarily strategically. Be innovative and intentional about your polls instead of contributing to the noise. Use them when it’s a good practice, not just because you can.
Ask for your feedback
There’s no better way to find out what the audience wants than to come out and ask them. A poll is a fast, efficient way to do this.
Take advantage of trending issues
If there is a current event or a trending subject, engage your audience in the conversation. Encourage participation and deepen your interaction by asking questions, playfully or seriously, about subjects that most of your audience can relate to.
Study in the Industry
If you’re planning to write a blog post or trying to get real data from your audience for another project, asking for feedback through an Instagram poll will make a huge contribution to your study. If you get answers from other social media sites, or even via a daily Instagram post, you can extend your test subjects by including your Instagram Stories audience.
plan events
If your company holds events, invite your audience to participate in the event with their choice for information. You may ask for input like beverage options, theme or decor options, and more.
