Google is in the process of testing out new updates with developers for the latest version. Android 10 is expected to replace by Android 11 soon.  Android 11 will be available on all Pixel devices by the end of 2020 and a small few non-Pixel Android phones. The rest are expected to receive it in Q1 2021.

What’s new with Android 11? How’s it going to be different from Android 10? Is it worth getting excited about? Due to the launch of the second Android 11 update, these are all concerns that we will now begin to address. We’ll learn even more, when it comes out.
Everything you need to know about Android 11, Its new features and the release date in 2020.

What Is Android 11?
Android 11 is expected to be the most recent Android OS version from its developers, Google; plus, it’s an upgrade to the latest edition of Android 10 version. While the latest version is not officially available, Google has released two developer preview versions-Android 11 DP1 and Android 11 DP2- for developers to test its performance.

The Google is planning to deliver about six more developer previews of Android 11 app before actually making it open to the public. These previews will be carried out in the coming months ahead.

When Will Android 11 Be Released?
Google is yet to announce a clear release date for Android 11, however, the firm confirmed it would be launched in the third quarter of 2020. As a consequence, early in September, the public expects the next OS.

Besides, earlier models of Android OS came out in the third quarter of the year. For eg, on 6 August 2018 Android 9 was released while Android 10 was released on 3 September 2019. Hence, Google is expected to announce Android 11 in the first week of September 2020.

How Can You Get Android 11?
Currently, the Android 11 is only supported on Google Pixel mobile phones. Which includes Google Pixel 4, Google Pixel 4XL, Google Pixel 3a, Google Pixel 3a XL, Google Pixel 3, Google Pixel 3 XL, Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL.

Google limits access for the OS support on its own devices, since it is a test version. You you can install and test the developer preview versions of the new OS, if you own either of these devices. You should remember, however, that this is a pre-release version, and is therefore not stable version.

On launching, this OS version update will be offered on smartphones from other vendors such as Samsung, Huawei, Tecno, Infinix, etc. The OS will be included in new phones and would be eligible for upgrades on certain compatible older Android models. Many Android devices around 80% would have to wait until Q1 2021 until they can get their hands on it.

What Features Should You Expect?
The most interesting one is identification of 5G. Apps operating Android 11 OS can identify whether the user is using 5G. The identification is close to the way applications track Wi-Fi on Android 10 and other earlier updates. That 5G recognition should boost the performance of the apps on mobile having latest version.

Google has added a new conversations section to the notification drop-down on Android 11. From this section, you can view real-time messages and carry out actions such as replies, snooze, mark as important, silence, and more. A shortcut has been provided from which you can view your notification history. Also, you can hide/silent notifications in the status bar.

A new security update helps you to grant applications one-off permissions to apps on the latest version of the OS. Here Google imitates the change created by Apple in its latest iOS versions. Instead of granting complete permissions for critical operations when using them, you can limit the permission to “only this time.”

Android 11 also allows you access to the accessibility features directly from the lock screen. A shortcut for accessibility is featured. You don’t often have to turn on and off the dark mode or leave the automation to the OS. You can schedule dark mode at different times that you want to enable.

The version of Android 11 will incorporate exciting features that will enhance Android OS performance in different ways. In fact, Google new Android version 11 will have improvements to usability, security, and other performance aspects.
