The goal of Huawei is to make AppGallery an open, innovative delivery app distribution platform that is available to consumers and, in addition, strictly preserves the privacy and security of users.

Due to the fact that the U.S. President Donald Trump baned his products in the U.S. last year, Huawei is trying to make its AppGallery a viable alternative to Google Play store. This is the official Huawei App distribution platform for mainstream apps and services worldwide, available in more than 170 countries/regions with 400 million monthly active users (MAUs).

It bifurcates applications in 18 different categories, including news, social media , entertainment and much more. This means less space is needed for storage. Instead of only 20 native apps, Huawei claims that users can accommodate more than 2,000 Quick Apps with 1GB of space. Quick Apps are used on over 350 million Huawei phones.
The Quick App will be gradually rolled out to more countries and regions, offering China’s mature Quick App standards and IDE development tools to global developers. All developers worldwide are welcome to publish Quick App to jointly provide tap-to-use and installation-free experience to users.
